See Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante expertly deal with a red carpet interview mix-up in which she was wrongly introduced as Poppy…
Despite not picking up the trophy for Best Metal Performance, Courtney LaPlante had a very memorable evening at the GRAMMYs last night (February 2) being mistaken for Poppy in an interview.
The Spiritbox singer has been praised online for how she smoothly handled the red carpet mix-up from StageRightSecrets, politely going along with the questions and even stating that she was “really happy to be here nominated with Knocked Loose” (for Poppy and KL’s collab Suffocate).
Courtney later continued that she “would love to take home the GRAMMY for Knocked Loose and myself because I would be the first woman to win this award”, and added that: “I just always know that it’s time for one of us to win. I hope it’s me or Spiritbox and Courtney.” Love that!
In the YouTube comments, one fan wrote that, “Courtney is a fucking gem, she couldn’t have handled this any better,” while another agreed, “Love how she rolled with it.” And someone else came up with the genius idea: “Now Poppy needs to pretend to be Courtney and interview as Spiritbox and this will be the greatest moment.”
