The 50 best albums of 2024
The Kerrang! countdown of the 50 albums that shaped 2024.
It’s here! Download have revealed a huge portion of next year’s line-up, with three first-time headliners – Green Day, Sleep Token and Korn – plus the likes of Weezer, Sex Pistols, Bullet For My Valentine, Spiritbox, The Darkness, Loathe and even McFly…
After much hype and speculation – and some excellent teasing – Download Festival have just revealed more than 90 bands for next year’s bill!
Up first, topping the Donington line-up in 2025 are, unbelievably, a trio of first-time headliners. Fresh from their incredible Saviors Tour, Green Day will be making their Download debut next year, alongside Sleep Token – who are just about to embark on a sold-out UK arena run – and the mighty Korn, who celebrated their 30th anniversary over the summer with a mega show at Gunnersbury Park. Basically, that’s three very special and very different bands leading charge.
On top of that, there’s an unbelievably exciting undercard including Weezer, Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter, Jimmy Eat World, Within Temptation, The Darkness, Poppy, Loathe, Spiritbox, Meshuggah, Lorna Shore, Jerry Cantrell, Cradle Of Filth, Don Broco, The Ghost Inside, Sylosis, Whitechapel, Fit For An Autopsy, Lorna Shore, Kittie, Jinjer and McFly – following their Vs. Tour rivals Busted’s brilliant set in 2024.
Download head honcho Andy Copping says: “Following on from last year’s sold out 21st edition, Download’s legacy not only includes the incredible artists who have performed at the hallowed grounds over the years, but also our unrivalled community, safe and warm atmosphere, and fantastic afterhours entertainment at District X, with something for truly everyone.”
Download Festival 2025 (which is also known as DLXXII) takes place from June 13 – 15, with tickets going on general sale this Thursday, November 14 from 9pm UK time.
