Venom Prison have released a live video of their brutalising track Matriphagy, recorded at last year's Damnation Festival.

Matriphagy is the technical term for live offspring consuming their mother. This cheerful topic forms the basis for the opening track of Venom Prison's latest album Samsara.

"This song deals with the unconditional love mothers feel for their own children, willing to literally die for them," vocalist Larissa Stupar tells Kerrang!. "When in fact an embryo is a product of the invasion of the female body by a foreign object. Our bodies are fascinating and whatever is going on inside them during and after the fertilisation is insane."

Speaking to Kerrang! for Venom Prison's magazine cover story last year, Larissa revealed that the song was inspired by seeing the relationship her siblings have with their children.

"Pregnancy is about life and death, both sides, and I felt inspired by that and it would be a cool ideas to get those two together," she told us.
