This weekend, Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, FEVER 333, Lamb Of God, Code Orange and loads of other cowabunga bands will be hitting Daytona Beach in Florida for Welcome To Rockville. If you’re not in Florida, you’re probably very jealous.
Well, the nice people at festival promoters Danny Wimmer Presents… have decided to take out rather a lot of the sting by streaming a load of the sets online via their Twitch channel. Not only that, but during the stream the headliners of next year’s event will be revealed.
One element the stream will highlight is the festival’s Twitch stage, through which newer bands can have a chance to reach a bigger audience. Over the past few months, this has been a key feature of their Twitch channel, with one lucky band rewarded with a gig on the festival’s Main Stage.
“Twitch has provided us with a unique platform to not only have unprecedented daily engagement with our fans but to also discover and interact with the bands of the future,” says promoter Danny Wimmer. “The new Twitch Stage is going to give us the opportunity to showcase some of the amazing new artists we have found on the platform.”
