The Recording Academy has unveiled the full list of nominations for the 67th GRAMMY Awards.
Next year’s grand occasion – which takes place on Sunday, February 2 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles – features some 94 categories, with four in particular catching our eye: Best Rock Performance, Best Metal Performance, Best Rock Song and Best Rock Album.
In the first of those, The Beatles, The Black Keys, Green Day, IDLES, Pearl Jam and St. Vincent will be competing with various songs in the Best Rock Performance category. On the heavier end in Best Metal Performance, Gojira’s Olympics effort Mea Culpa (Ah! Ça ira!) sees them scoop a nomination alongside Judas Priest, Knocked Loose featuring Poppy, Metallica and Spiritbox.
The Best Rock Song features mostly the same bands and songs as Best Rock Performance, though with no Beatles, and Green Day’s Dilemma nominated instead of The American Dream Is Killing Me. And then, finally, the Best Rock Album category is comprised of The Black Crowes, Fontaines D.C., Green Day, IDLES, Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones and Jack White.
Congrats, all!
