Soundgarden Will Release A Limited Box Set of Footage From Their Final King Animal Show

Back on February 17, 2013, Soundgarden played the final show of their tour of their in support of their final album, King Animal: a sold-out show at the Wiltern in Los Angeles. The show included songs from the album, plus an arsenal of classic hits like Spoonman, Fell On Black Days, Jesus Christ Pose, and more -- and the whole thing was caught on film.

Today, Soundgarden have announced that on July 26, they will be releasing Soundgarden: Live From The Artist’s Den -- a special live album, film and box set release celebrating that legendary night in Los Angeles, consisting of a 29-song concert film, and more than 30 minutes of bonus interviews with the band on multiple LP, CD and Blu-Ray formats.

Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil says, “We were very proud and excited to document the performance of our new material from King Animal, and to celebrate with each other and our fans.”

Chris Cornell’s wife, Vicky Cornell, says, “This live show was really special, and I know how much fun Chris had that night. The idea of giving fans the opportunity to experience it in its entirety is something I’m proud to share with them.”

In celebration of the release, several “immersive” screening events will be planned in LA, Seattle, and New York City. Tickets for those events will go on sale later today, May 16th at 5PM EST/2PM PST, and come with the double-CD.
