Rise Against have just shared another new single, Prizefighter.

Following January’s Nod, the Chicago punks are hopefully gearing up for a proper album – which we asked frontman Tim McIlrath about recently.

Tim says that this newest track is about “a compulsion to create, that then creates an audience, and then your connection with that audience and your responsibilities to that audience, and how much an artist is obliged to that audience.

“It’s trying to reconcile the shift from spectator to the public arena, and what you owe the people that are your fans vs. what you owe your own mental health.”

In a recent episode of Kerrang! In Conversation, the frontman said of following up 2021 album Nowhere Generation: “We worked with a producer in London, her name is Catherine Marks, she’s amazing. I had it mixed by Alan Moulder. And I think people are going to hear a 2025 version of Rise Against – there’s gonna be some traditional stuff like everyone’s heard Nod, but I think you’ll hear some stuff like, ‘This wasn’t something I expected.’ I’m excited.”
