Green Day side-project The Coverups announce 2025 London show
Surprise! Billie Joe Armstrong will be back in London next month for another special show with his side-project The Coverups.
Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has seemingly been learning some new tricks courtesy of Post Malone.
Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has been busy hanging out with all manor of famous folk this year – from Billie Eilish to Morrissey.
Now the punk hero has seemingly befriended superstar rapper (and massive rock fan) Post Malone, having attended his show last week and even gone backstage to play beer pong with him.
Their get-together was revealed on Instagram by photographer Grady Brannan, who posted a photo of all three of them with the caption: "Two assholes and a rock’n’roll legend… We taught Billie Joe Armstrong how to play beer pong tonight… Green Day literally raised me and I’m still star struck."
This isn't the first time Post Malone has been spotted with rock royalty. Last year he hung out with Metallica at their show in Fresno, while just recently he teamed up with The Prince Of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, for the song Take What You Want on his solo album Hollywood's Bleeding.

Green Day will be releasing their 13th studio album, Father Of All…, next year – and it's a record that the band created in order to "fuck with people".
“Do you want to go back and do the same old thing?” drummer Tré Cool told Kerrang!. “We don’t want to do what everyone would expect us to do, so it was just kinda mischief and making it fun. That was the bottom line of it.”
“There’s a very fine line threading the needle for us, because we do want to try new things, but we always want to make sure it’s absolute Green Day, you know?” added Billie Joe. “It’s a very fine line – clever and stupid (laughs). But Green Day’s credo is mischief, no matter what. We’re always down for mischief and we want to fuck with people… to the point of it being abusive!”
