Poppy shares new single and video, Unravel

Poppy has just dropped her first solo single since last year’s sixth album Negative Spaces.

Entitled Unravel, the pop-metal anthem once again hears Poppy team up with producer Jordan Fish – a partnership that continues to bear fruit – while the stunning accompanying music video features some wonderful acrobatics. The release follows Poppy’s recent cover of Wham! classic Last Christmas; elsewhere in 2025, she’s teamed up with BABYMETAL for from me to u on their album METAL FORTH, and Amy Lee and Courtney LaPlante on standalone banger End Of You.

Speaking to Kerrang! about her ethos and approach when it comes to making music, Poppy explained, “I think if you put too many rules or guidelines and guardrails around, it ruins the whole experience. And then you clam up and you can’t do anything else. But if you go into any project that’s creative thinking, ‘I just want to do something that I haven’t done before,’ then you’ll get a different result – and the right people will come and the right people will listen.”
