Nine Inch Nails have started teasing something called Future Ruins.

And it seems as though, despite having their massive Peel It Back world tour on the way, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are going to be branching out into the festival circuit very soon, with the official Future Ruins Instagram account having “festival” in the username (@futureruinsfestival).

Interestingly, a newly-unveiled accompanying website – which features the tagline ‘The music tells the story’ – reveals that Future Ruins has its own Los Angeles-based Letterboxd profile as well, which is something that adds up with an interview NIN gave last April, in which the duo told GQ they were working on a new company dealing in ‘film production, fashion, a music festival, and a venture with Epic Games’.

In that same chat, Trent revealed that doing all sorts of soundtrack work lately had “managed to make Nine Inch Nails feel way more exciting than it had been in the past few years. I’d kind of let it atrophy a bit in my mind for a variety of reasons.”

“I do feel excited about starting on the next record,” agreed Atticus. “I think we’re in a place now where we kind of have an idea.”

Anyway, watch this space for more on Future Ruins, because it seems as though the launch is happening imminently…
