YUNGBLUD, Turnstile and Nine Inch Nails were among the winners at last night’s 68th Annual GRAMMY Awards.
The rock, metal and alternative categories were filled with some interesting and exciting talking points from the Los Angeles event, with Baltimore hardcore superstars Turnstile notably picking up two trophies on the day: their viral song BIRDS won Best Metal Performance, and the 5/5-rated record from which it was taken – NEVER ENOUGH – was awarded Best Rock Album.
Elsewhere, YUNGBLUD’s Changes cover from Back To The Beginning, featuring Nuno Bettencourt, Frank Bello, Adam Wakeman and Sleep Token’s II, was given Best Rock Performance (“My heart is bursting with pride and gratitude,” wrote Sharon Osbourne on Instagram afterwards), and NIN’s Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross got Best Rock Song for As Alive As You Need Me to Be – taken from their banging TRON: Ares soundtrack.
In the other categories – Best Alternative Music Performance and Best Alternative Music Album – The Cure won out against the likes of Turnstile and Hayley Williams.
Congrats, all!
