Having made an enormous splash as metalhead Eddie Munson in Stranger Things 4, actor Joseph Quinn is continuing to live the dream right now, meeting up with Metallica backstage at Lollapalooza for a jam session.

After shredding Master Of Puppets in The Upside Down (and causing streams and downloads of the song to skyrocket), Joseph headed to Chicago to hang out with James Hetfield and co. to thank them for “letting us use the track” in the show – to which the frontman graciously responded, “Thank you for doing it justice.”

The guys then headed to Metallica’s jam space to tear through Puppets, with drummer Lars Ulrich jokingly adding Joseph to the band full-time: “I’d like to make an announcement that Metallica is now a five-piece.”

’Tallica then gave Joe a lovely new B.C. Rich guitar (the same that he played in Stranger Things) and signed it, and then unleashed Master Of Puppets live later that night with that already-iconic Upside Down footage playing behind them.

The best.
