Linkin Park to perform at the UEFA Champions League final
Linkin Park have remixed their mega-hit Numb in a way that is ‘inspired by UEFA Champions League football’, and will be performing at the Munich Kick Off Show on May 31.
It’s nothing quite so dramatic as what his dad came to be known for, but there’s a quiet beauty about these piano pieces.
Chester Bennington’s widow, Talinda, has shared music by her late husband’s oldest son, Jaime.
Talinda posted to Twitter: “Our son Jaime is as talented as his father @ChesterBe . Here's a bit of his original work. #legacy”
Jaime Bennington’s music is, at the moment, relaxed piano fare that’d feel at home on a classical music radio station. Jaime himself states, on his blog, that these pieces are “fuelled by my love for the incredible Dimitri (sic) Shostakovich”.
Dmitri Shostakovich, who died in 1975 (21 years before the 21-year-old Jaime was born), is regarded as one of the preeminent composers of the 20th century. Born in St Petersburg, Russia in 1906, he went on to achieve international acclaim, writing 15 full symphonies and many other celebrated arrangements.

These shouldn’t be taken as entirely indicative of Jaime’s musical direction, going forward, calling them as he does on his blog “an experiment” in moving away from previous forms and harmonies. You can follow Jaime’s future recordings via his Twitter account, and find previous work on his Soundcloud page.
