Idles frontman Joe Talbot has lent his support to Samaritans' Brew Monday event.
Blue Monday falls on the third Monday of January and is said to be the most difficult day of the year for many people. Samaritans aim to turn that on its head by encouraging everyone to have a chat over a cup of tea and help raise funds to support their life-saving work.
“It’s an honour to be involved in Brew Monday," says the Idles vocalist. "It’s such a simple act; to sit with a cup of tea and chat with your mates, but we rarely find the time to extract ourselves from the chaos of life to just listen and be. There are so many people out there who could benefit from someone lending an ear; it certainly saved me in so many ways.
“I personally know two people whose lives have been saved because they called Samaritans; and this is something I will always be grateful for," he adds. "I believe there is something so brave about letting people in and I commend those that will listen. Put the kettle on!”
