Hear IDLES on the new Gorillaz single, The God Of Lying

Gorillaz have released a brand-new single, The God Of Lying, featuring the mighty IDLES.

The track was written by vocalists Damon Albarn and Joe Talbot, and was recorded in London, Devon and Mumbai. It’s taken from Gorillaz’ upcoming ninth album The Mountain, which is due out on March 20, 2026 and features a whole host of special guests alongside IDLES.

Speaking about The God Of Lying, Gorillaz frontman 2D says simply, “Can I tell you a secret? Doubt is very tiring but questioning things is really good for you.”

Following the release of last year’s fifth LP TANGK, IDLES have continued to keep things interesting – over the summer, they wrote several new songs for the soundtrack to Darren Aronofsky’s Caught Stealing, with the filmmaker enthusing, “I don’t think a band has really been tasked with performing a score for a movie. Who better to collaborate with than IDLES? It has been a dream watching them bend their notes to blast a hole in our movie screen.”
