In a now-seemingly-deleted Instagram story, it looks like one of My Chemical Romance’s longtime associates teased their fifth album…
Updated story: We’ve got some bad news, people – it was just a bit of trolling…
Original story: It’s been a year and a half now since My Chemical Romance unleashed their epic and excellent comeback single The Foundations Of Decay, but we’ve not heard a peep about any more new music since… until now?!
Some eagle-eyed fans have spotted a promising new teaser for what could point to the band’s long-awaited fifth album – the follow-up to 2010 fourth LP Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys. In a now-deleted Instagram story, longtime MCR friend and associate @bigwormser shared a photo of an acoustic guitar, an ‘I’m Not OK’ art print, and most excitingly of all, a Post-it note with the very intriguing writing ‘5OON’.
Which, of course, the MCRmy are interpreting to mean that a fifth My Chem album does exist, and it could also suggest that an announcement about it is coming soon. Or even that it’ll be released soon?! We have no idea, but if it’s not either of those things, then we’re stumped.
Naturally, 5OON has since started to trend on Twitter – check out how excited everyone is below.
