Halsey is already following up last year’s The Great Impersonator album with a rocky-sounding new single called safeword, which is – unsurprisingly – about “obedience”.
Halsey is teasing a rocky, BDSM-inspired new single and video called safeword.
Arriving this Thursday, February 27 at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm GMT, the track is her first new music since last year’s 4/5-rated The Great Impersonator album.
In a brief fan Q&A on X recently, Halsey was asked for a one-word hint about what the song is about, to which they replied, “Obedience.”
Halsey also revealed some of what’s to come from this year’s recently-announced For My Last Trick: The Tour 2025: “All I can say is that this isn’t gonna be the TGI tour. It’s something completely different.” She also said that there’s “definitely old songs” in the setlist, “And new ones too! And even the one I’m dropping next week” (referring to the then-unknown safeword).
