Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has unveiled yet another awesome cover for his No Fun Mondays sessions, this time taking on Eric Carmen's That's Rock'n'Roll.
"Welcome to another No Fun Monday," he says. "Today’s song is That’s Rock’n’Roll by Eric Carmen who was also in The Raspberries. However the first time I heard this song was by teen heartthrob Shaun Cassidy. My sisters would dance around the house to this one!"

Recently, Billie has also taken on the likes of Kim Wilde's Kids In America, Starjets' War Stories, and Tommy James & The Shondells' I Think We're Alone Now, which he also performed remotely on The Late Late Show With James Corden with his two sons, Joey and Jakob.
In early April, he also told Kerrang! that he'd written six new Green Day songs while in lockdown, revealing, “I’ve been writing a lot of music, and I had all these melodies in my head, so I wrote, like, six songs since all of this has been going on. I don’t know when I can get together with Mike [Dirnt, bass] and Tré [Cool, drums], but I told them to make sure that they’re quarantined for now, and then I hope down the road we can get back in the studio with [Father Of All… producer] Butch Walker.”
When asked what else he’s been up to, Billie Joe continued: “I’ve just been indoors like everyone else on the planet right now, waiting around to see what happens next! I’ve been going through The Office a lot, going through all of my punk and rock’n’roll documentaries, trying to read a little bit here and there, and hanging out with my dogs. [My wife] Adrienne and I have just been stuck in the house the whole time.
“I feel pretty lost in all of this,” he added. “I think a lot of people are trying to do the right thing and be with their families and friends as much as they can… When you have that separation, you realise that we take for granted some of the things that matter most to us.”

Happily, Eric even saw the cover himself, tweeting, "Big shout out to Billie [Joe] Armstrong of Green Day for this ultra-cool new take on That's Rock'n'Roll."
Shaun Cassidy also responded to the Green Day frontman, writing, "And my daughters are dancing to this now. Nice work Billie Joe!"
