They’re going to be on the road a whole lot this year, but Green Day are also already booking shows in 2025!

The band have just announced their first-ever shows in South Africa for next January, headlining Calabash at Johennesburg’s FNB Stadium on January 19, and Cape Town’s DHL Stadium on January 23. They’ll be joined on the line-up by subheadliners The Offspring, and local rock band Fokofpolisiekar.

Before that, of course, we’ve got The Saviors Tour to look forward to throughout 2024, with Green Day playing both Dookie and American Idiot in full (and hopefully lots of stuff from latest album Saviors, too).

“We’re excited,” bassist Mike Dirnt told Kerrang!. “I’m excited about the fact that people are excited about Dookie and American Idiot’s anniversaries. I mean, the fact that we’re launching a new record at the same time as those albums having their anniversaries is a strange anomaly, but also really awesome. And it gives us an opportunity to put together one hell of a show. We can deviate from it – we can do whatever we want to do – but, man, there’s a lot of friggin’ fun songs to play!”
