Just a few hours on from learning about the devastating loss of Ozzy Osbourne at the age of 76, Ghost dedicated their Madison Square Garden gig to the heavy metal legend.

The Swedish titans were playing a sold-out ritual at New York’s iconic arena on July 22 as part of their Skeletour, only a couple of weeks on from Papa V Perpetua’s participation at Back To The Beginning, where he covered Bark At The Moon.

Before performing The Future Is A Foreign Land seven songs into the set yesterday, Papa announced, “Good evening, New York City! How are you? It’s one of them days now. We’re gonna dedicate tonight’s show to the memory of the life and laughter of Ozzy Osbourne.”

As the crowd started chanting Ozzy’s name, the frontman went on: “For being The Prince Of Darkness, he sure gave us a lot of light. So we’re gonna tap into that tonight and carry it forward through a time of darkness…”

Sharing the video on social media, Ghost wrote: “We wish to inform you that Ghost dedicated their sold out New York ritual at Madison Square Garden to the Prince of Darkness himself: Ozzy Osbourne.”
