Back To The Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow is getting a 2026 theatrical release
Mercury Studios have announced a ‘100-minute cinematic experience’ celebrating Ozzy’s final show and the legacy of Sabbath.
Just a couple of weeks on from his farewell show with Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne passed away this morning (July 22) according to a statement from his family.
The Osbourne family have announced that Ozzy has died, aged 76.
In a statement, The Prince Of Darkness’ loved ones write (via BBC): “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love.”
The family – Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis – add: “We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
The Black Sabbath legend performed onstage for the final time at Villa Park on July 5 in an incredible show that raised more than $190 million for charity. His wife Sharon had recently told Kerrang! that despite his many health battles over the years – including being diagnosed with Parkin 2 – it had “given him a reason to get up in the morning”, to “do his physio and get himself together”.
Performing on a massive throne, we noted in our review of Back To The Beginning that it was “overwhelming” to see him back onstage one last time, as well as being “visible how hard Ozzy’s had to battle to do this”. Recently, it was announced that Back To The Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow would be getting a 2026 theatrical release.
Kerrang! sends our condolences to Ozzy’s family and friends at this devastating time.
