It’s no secret that Deftones have been working on the follow-up to 2020’s Ohms for a good while now, and it looks like we might get to hear some of it very soon, or possibly get an official announcement.

At the band’s sell-out London extravaganza at Crystal Palace Park yesterday (June 29), they started teasing something called PRIVATE MUSIC on the big screens by the stage before their set, along with Roman numerals translated to 10.7.2025 (via clever people on Reddit).

Obviously, people are now speculating that we may finally get a new single on July 10, and maybe even news of the record – is PRIVATE MUSIC the title of one of those things?!

Last May, frontman Chino Moreno was in the studio recording vocals, while the month prior, he’d said that Deftones were “jazzed” about what they’d been creating, and that their new album has an “invigorated kind of sound”.

“The creative part, to me, is always kind of the funnest part of being in this band,” Chino shared. “Performing is great, but coming up with something out of nothing, that feeling cannot be topped. And so when you get in the room with your friends, we’re laughing, we’re having fun and then someone does something and then I react to it or they react to what I’m doing, it goes in a circle and then, all of a sudden, we lift our heads up and there’s something that exists that didn’t exist before we walked in that room. That’s just great.”
