Who are Slipknot’s fans?
We head down to Slipknot’s Here Comes The Pain tour in Manchester to meet the Maggots that had their lives changed forever by nine masked men from the cornfields…
Not only is there a Slipknot album on the way, but Corey Taylor has promised even more “big shit” for this year too…
While Corey Taylor is seemingly the busiest person ever pretty much every single year, the Slipknot frontman has confirmed that 2022 will be no exception.
Taking to Twitter, the vocalist shares that the much talked-about new ’Knot album – the follow-up to 2019's We Are Not Your Kind – will land this year, as well as "secret 'homecoming' plans" (presumably in Iowa), and updates on his "gonzo horror comedy" movie, Zombie Versus Ninja.
"Big Shit Coming, 2022 edition: ZvN updates, SK album, secret ‘homecoming’ plans, etc. Stay Tuned!" Corey writes. "'Hold On To Your Butts' – Franklin D. Roosevelt"
In December, Corey confirmed that Slipknot were "about 90 per cent" done with their upcoming LP, with plans to get it mixed in January and then release it "two or three months after".
"It's really good; I'm really, really stoked on it," he enthused. "I actually like this one more than I like We Are Not Your Kind, and I loved We Are Not Your Kind."
Of its full status, the frontman continued: "I have four songs that I have to sing, ’cause I'm redoing one that I wasn't happy with; I listened to it, and I was, like, 'I can do that better.' And honestly, very rarely have I ever had the opportunity to do that. So it's actually kind of rad that I'm getting a chance to go in and go, 'You know what? I can beat what I did.' But that's gonna take me five days to get that done. ’Cause I'm gonna do those four songs and then go back through and do punch-up on anything that I'm just not feeling. But it's gonna be very, very little ’cause I'm pretty down with everything that I've got. So once that's done, man, it's just a matter of having Joe mix it. And I know Clown's been working on the artwork.
"We're working on a video for… obviously for Chapeltown Rag, but also probably for whatever the first single's gonna be. Yeah, it's just a matter of time before we start getting it together."
