Who are Slipknot’s fans?
We head down to Slipknot’s Here Comes The Pain tour in Manchester to meet the Maggots that had their lives changed forever by nine masked men from the cornfields…
Slipknot's Corey Taylor doesn't care what you think about his new mask
Corey Taylor has said he won't be changing his mask because of how people reacted to it.
Responding to a fan on Instagram, the Slipknot frontman explained why he'll never change it.
"I love how much your mask is seriously wrecking heads," says @mandis_world02. "Personally, I like it. You've achieved what you set out to do....fucking loving it!!"
"That's exactly why I'l never change it," replied Corey, "because it bothers SOOOOOO many people."
Speaking exclusively to Kerrang! last month, the Slipknot vocalist explained his new mask was made to "fuck with people."
“My vision was about trying to create something uncomfortable – not only for me to wear, but for people to look at," said Corey. "I wanted it to feel like it was something that was created in someone’s basement – something that was made specifically to fuck with people. It’s the representation of public opinion turning on a dime – they want to tear people down for the way they live, even if they don’t really know them. It’s been liberating to embrace that side and be like, ‘Fuck you. I really don’t give a shit what you think about me, so here’s this!’”
The mask was designed by acclaimed horror artist Tom Savini, famed for his special effects work on the original Dawn Of The Dead and Friday 13th.
Last night, Slipknot streamed their headline set at Rock Am Ring festival in Germany, packing a setlist that included Disasterpiece, Get This and new track Unsainted.
