Architects Are Planning "A Couple Of Surprises" For European Tour

Following the band's sensational Holy Hell album at the tail-end of 2018, Architects are heading out on their most ambitious headline tour this month. Starting this Sunday in Stockholm, Sweden, the bleh-tastic metallers are headlining five nights in the UK's biggest arenas, primed and ready to unleash some of the most vicious and vital metal Britain has produced in recent years.

Speaking exclusively to Kerrang!, drummer Dan Searle shares his thoughts on picking the tour setlist, considering the band's expansive back catalogue and the emotional heft of the newer material.

“[The Seventh Circle] raised a few eyebrows and caught people’s attention. It’s obviously a very extreme song in terms of the emotional sentiment of it, but the truth is we just don’t want to play every single song off the album,” Dan tells Kerrang!. “Because we know we’ll do another tour and we want some songs to switch out. We’re saving that one for a later date.”

“I think the set will maybe change slightly from Russia. But we’ll have a couple of surprises up our sleeves…”

Who knows what Architects are planning, but our money is on a beatdown-heavy cover of Africa by Toto.
