Fresh from revealing this year’s Album Champions, National Album Day have announced a whopping 60 records that are getting celebrated on Saturday, October 18.
A mixture of “classic reissues and new releases”, these LPs can be bought through independent stores throughout the UK on the day, as well as online and digital platforms.
Celebrating its 10th birthday, Ghost’s Meloria is getting the National Album Day treatment, while elsewhere Avenged Sevenfold’s epic The Stage is in the mix, along with Good Charlotte’s pop-punk staple The Young And The Hopeless, Hole’s Live Through This, Judas Priest’s classic Painkiller, KISS’ Love Gun, and Sex Pistols’ iconic Never Mind The Bollocks. Architects, meanwhile, will be sharing new versions of Holy Hell and Lost Forever // Lost Together, and BABYMETAL are going all-in: they’ve announced special versions of their self-titled debut, METAL GALAXY, METAL RESISTANCE and THE OTHER ONE.
Other big titles includes the 50th anniversary edition of A
Night At The Opera by Queen – which Sir Brian May enthuses “was a hugely
important album for us. It opened up the world for us.” “We were at the peak of our confidence,” agrees drummer Roger
Taylor. “It felt like there wasn’t anything we couldn’t do, and it shows on
that album.”
