twenty one pilots have unveiled a brand-new single and video.

Following the previously-released Overcompensate and Next Semester, the duo have now shared Backslide from their upcoming album Clancy.

Backslide also has a great music video directed by drummer Josh Dun, with throwbacks to other massive moments in their discography including the bike riding in Stressed Out, their mascot Ned from the Chlorine video, similarities to Scaled And Icy’s Choker and even more.

Clancy is due out a week later than originally planned, on May 24, with frontman Tyler Joseph explaining that they need a little more time to finish up all the album’s music videos.

“When I first told Josh [Dun, drummer] and Mark [Eshleman, collaborator] and everyone on our team that I wanted to do a music video for every song on the album Clancy that’s coming up, I told them it’s because I love these songs, and I believe in them enough to pretend to sing in front of a camera to each one,” he said. “And that’s what we’re going to do, because that’s how I want to present this album.

“But because of that, in order to accomplish that, we need a little bit more time – that’s why I’m making this video. We’re going to push the album back by one week, to May 24.”

For now, then, watch Backslide:
