VILLANELLE have unleashed their grungy debut single Hinge, which the band state is “just simple and high-energy”.
New band VILLANELLE have just dropped their debut single, Hinge.
The trio – comprised of Liam Gallagher’s son Gene on vocals/guitar, along with guitarist Ben Taylor and bassist Jack Schiavo – are influenced by everyone from The Who and Buzzcocks to Nirvana, Deftones, Black Sabbath, Smashing Pumpkins and my bloody valentine, and while they continue to work on a full debut EP in the background, they’ve unleashed the grungy Hinge to give listeners a first taste of what they’re about.
“Hinge is about paranoia derived from sleepless nights,” explains Gene. “I was probably hungover when I wrote it.” Meanwhile, Ben adds that the track is “just simple and high-energy. Anyone can play it, but no-one can play it like us.”
