Delaire The Liar have returned with their first new music in two years, in the form of ultra-fuzzy new single Bite Trap.

Produced by Kel Pinchin (Modern Error), and with a video done by filmmaker Harry Steel, it's a welcome return for the London alt trio. And if it sounds a little different for them, that's the point...

“We explored a style of writing with Bite Trap that was a little out of the ordinary for us," they explain. "Whilst staying true to our tastes, we relied on our gut & immediate feeling to guide the makeup of the song and didn’t allow ourselves the space to over-think and over-complicate the process. If it sucked, it went; if it fucked, it stayed."

On the theme of the song, they say it's exploring an idea of defensiveness, rather than a specific personal experience.

“The song itself is written conceptually rather than drawing on personal & emotional experience. The narrative explores how people defend themselves and the ones they care about, and how those responses can be misjudged, irrational and charged even with the best intentions at heart.”

The band headline the Rude Records Getaway Tour this week, alongside Modern Error and Oakman. Catch them at...
