Album review: The Offspring – Supercharged
An Offspring album in 2024? Yep, and the California punk legends sound plugged back in on their 11th outing.
“He’s pretty good!” Watch pro-shot footage of The Offspring welcoming YUNGBLUD to the stage for a fantastic performance of Self Esteem.
After sharing a snippet of their onstage (and partly offstage for Dom…) collab earlier this week, The Offspring have just released a full, pro-shot video of their recent surprise performance with YUNGBLUD.
The two joined forces at Open Air Gampel last Friday night for Offspring’s set-closer Self Esteem. Announcing their special guest, frontman Dexter Holland told the crowd beforehand (transcribed by Kerrang!): “One of the cool things about playing these festivals is that you get to play with other people and meet other people, and we met some great guys today.

“We met this great young man today, we thought we should bring him out to play a song with us, right? Because that’s what it’s all about. It’s not about the photo op – it’s about the camaraderie with the audience. Come on out – it’s YUNGBLUD!”
After Dom inevitably smashed it, Dexter then joked at the end of the song: “Thank you, YUNGBLUD! He’s pretty good – I think he’s gonna be okay.”
Yep, an astute observation, right there. Watch the full video in all its awesomeness below.
In other Offspring news, the band will be releasing their 11th album Supercharged on October 11 via Concord.
“We wanted this record to have pure energy – from the start to the finish!” teased Dexter. “That’s why we called it Supercharged. From the height of our aspirations to the depths of our struggles, we talk about it all on this record… in a way that celebrates the life that we share and where we are now.”
