Scowl have just unleashed a brilliantly gripping new single, Tonight (I’m Afraid).
The rising hardcore stars have given one final preview of their next album Are We All Angels before it arrives in full on April 4, following previous tracks B.A.B.E, Not Heaven, Not Hell and Special.
Speaking to Kerrang! in October about how performing the sort of shows Scowl have in recent times has influenced their new music, Kat Moss explained, “Playing bigger venues, you start to conceptualise, subconsciously, ‘How could I write a song that I could imagine a million faces singing back to me?’”
Equally, though, the singer revealed that things seem to just happen naturally in the band’s creative process: “It was kind of this unknown phenomena that happens when we write music. It’s not like we’re going into it like, ‘Okay, we want it like this.’ Whenever we’ve wanted it to sound a certain way, it never fucking does!”
