Hayley Williams has just unveiled a brand-new solo album, Ego.

Along with a new semi-permanent hair dye of the same name through her Good Dye Young company, the Paramore singer has taken the internet by storm overnight with a massive surprise drop. First, GDY unveiled 2,000 limited-edition signed cartons of their all-new Ego colour, before then hinting, “Meet the shade that unlocks the soundtrack to your summer…” (Literally!)

Fans who purchased said shade were emailed a 16-digit access code, which, when used over at hayleywilliams.net, took them to a nostalgic looking page featuring 17 downloads of new Hayley solo songs – including last week’s Mirtazapine, plus tracks like Glum, BloodBros, EDAABP, Negative Self Talk, Whim and Discovery Channel (which, according to Pitchfork, interpolates Bloodhound Gang’s The Bad Touch).

The Good Dye Young website says that the Ego hair dye marks “the beginning of a new creative era” for Hayley. She released her solo debut Petals For Armor in 2020 and its follow-up Flowers For Vases / Descansos the following year, and in a very cool move, recently premiered Ego’s first single Mirtazapine on Nashville public radio station WNXP.
