Unveiled via Nashville’s WNXP, Hayley Williams has surprised-released new solo song Mirtazapine – and we’re now waiting to see if it officially arrives on streaming services…
Surpriseeeeee! Hayley Williams just debuted a new solo track, Mirtazapine, on Nashville public radio station WNXP.
Having recently been in the studio with everyone from David Byrne to Turnstile to Moses Sumney, the Paramore superstar has seemingly also found the time to write and record her own material, too. Following 2020 debut Petals For Armor and 2021’s Flowers For Vases / Descansos, Mirtazapine is the first new solo stuff we’ve had from Hayley in more than four years, and it absolutely doesn’t disappoint. Not only that, but according to artwork on social media, there’s a B-side called Glum coming as well.
Presumably Hayley picked WNXP to air the track as they are currently after donations: “Congress has passed a bill defunding public media,” reads a statement on their website. “This is a major blow to WNXP and other stations around the country. The one thing that’s clear in this time of uncertainty is that support from our community is essential. Donate today to ensure WNXP’s future.”
“Thanks for keeping me company,” writes Hayley on the physical copy of the CD given to the station. “Long live public radio.”
