Pantera's second collaboration with KnuckleBonz is a 3D rendering of the cover of their sophomore album.
Last month, Texas groove legends Pantera announced their collaboration with KnuckleBonz to produce figurines of the band's members during the iconic Cowboys From Hell era. Now, the two have announced they will be releasing a 3D vinyl statue of the infamous cover of the group’s double platinum record, Vulgar Display of Power.
The sculpture brings the band's classic face-punching artwork to life, capturing the full kinetic rawness of the album's cover image.
“Created to capture some of the most iconic images in album art, this 3D Vinyl™ is 12″ (tall) x 12″ (wide) and this unique collectible can be desk-mounted or wall-mounted,” Pantera wrote on Instagram.
Preorders are now live for $199, but these are incredibly limited, so you might want to act fast to obtain this worthy tribute to the record that saved American metal.
Speaking with Kerrang!, Phil Anselmo went into detail about his lengthy career. “It’s just another expression of music.” he said. “Firstly, Pantera has been done for over a decade. It does take up a small amount of time and effort, because it is still a business. But that’s that.
“I don’t really engage with dwelling on the past," Phil continued. "It’s always brimming under the surface in my conscience. I live it. I think about it every day. I dream about it often -- about the old days; the old times; about Dimebag. I wish Dimebag were alive today, of course. In my deepest of hearts I know that he and I would’ve made up a long time ago. We were too good of friends for all of this.”
He also noted that what happened with Pantera isn’t uncommon. “Dealing with everybody growing up and becoming their own individual means it’s always hard to keep a band like that rolling in those conditions. Look at The Beatles. Look at all the other bands that’ve broken-up.”
