The countdown is on, and it’s very nearly time to see Ozzy Osbourne reunite with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for Black Sabbath’s Back To The Beginning extravaganza on July 5.

Taking to Villa Park’s stage in the heavy metal heroes’ hometown of Aston, the gig will be the final time fans ever get to see The Prince Of Darkness perform live – no wonder it’s being described as ‘the biggest metal event of all time’. Not to mention the fact that, throughout the day, as curated by Tom Morello, everyone from Metallica to Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice In Chains and more will also be playing, along with an all-star band including the likes of Billy Corgan, Papa V Perpetua and Chad Smith.

Of course, Villa Park only holds so many people, and thankfully Mercury Studios and Kiswe will be livestreaming the whole thing for the many millions who weren’t able to get tickets. Entitled Back To The Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow, the pay-per-view programme will kick off at 3pm BST on Saturday, and will be available to rewatch in its entirety for another 48 hours after the show ends. Get your tickets here.

Speaking with Kerrang! recently, compere Jason Momoa enthused: “This show is going to be amazing and I’m so happy they’ve done it on pay-per-view for all to see. Ozzy is everything to me. Sabbath is every-fucking-thing, man. I remember the first song, I remember playing Sabbath to my kids the first time. I love everything about that band. They’re real man, and I’m just going to be around everyone that I grew up loving. Slash and Tool are there, Alice In Chains, Pantera, Metallica… It’s surreal, bro.”
