At the tail-end of 2019, fans and bands alike were sharing their Spotify Wrapped stats all over social media. The playlists and charts put together by the streaming service revealed our most-listened to artists over the past 12 months, alongside how many thousands of hours we've spent listening to our favourite music.
Spotify also revealed the streaming figures for bands on the platform, and it's safe to say that no metal band came close to the mighty Metallica who racked up one billion streams. Yes. 1,000,000,000.

Posting the news on Twitter, the band say: "ONE. BILLION. STREAMS. 1,026 decades of Metallica music was streamed in 2019! Unreal! Thanks to the most dedicated fans in the world... you all are incredible!"
Those numbers are pretty staggering, with almost 90 million hours of Metallica being played across 76 countries throughout 2019.
The most streamed artist on Spotify in 2019 was Post Malone, who received 6.5 billion streams worldwide.
In December, Spotify revealed the most-streamed artists of the 2010s, with Drake, Ed Sheeran and Ariana Grande amongst the top five.
