Following on from the news that The Ghost Inside will be raising money for Australian wildfire relief ahead of their show at UNIFY Gathering, and Fit For An Autopsy have been doing the same for WWF Australia through merch sales, Metallica are the next band to get involved in doing their bit for the country's horrific wildfires.
Through their brilliant All Within My Hands Foundation, the metal heroes have announced that they are pledging $750,000 to NSW Rural Fire Service and to the CFA (Country Fire Authority) in Victoria, stating that they – along with the rest of the world, obviously – are "totally overwhelmed by the news of the wildfires sweeping through millions of acres across Australia".
"The resulting destruction and devastating effects on all residents, animals, the environment and the incredible land in Australia is truly heartbreaking," the band say in a statement.
"Please join us and do whatever you can to assist as we, along with our All Within My Hands Foundation, are pledging A$750,000 to the NSW Rural Fire Service and to the CFA (Country Fire Authority) in Victoria to aid in the relief efforts.
