The Metal God praises "metalhead" Miley Cyrus for her "extraordinary voice", enthusing that he can't wait for her Metallica covers album.
While last month's news that Miley Cyrus is working on a Metallica covers album proved to be pretty divisive within the community, Rob Halford – aka The Metal God – has shown his support for the idea, praising the pop star for her “extraordinary voice”.
The Judas Priest frontman enthused that he was excited to hear the record while speaking on the new episode of the Life In The Stocks podcast, adding that he would also “love to meet” Miley one day “if the stars ever aligned”.
“She is incredible,” says Rob. “If you think about her life in showbusiness from being a little kid, and how she’s kept her head on straight… she went a bit mad as a teenager – which you should do, that’s your right, she was expressing herself.

“I can’t wait [to hear her Metallica covers album] – that’s going to be great. She has an extraordinary voice. Like [Lady] Gaga, the voice is everything. And she’s a metalhead, she’s always throwing the horns up.”
And Rob isn't the only metal star who is a fan of Miley. Back when the singer wowed fans with a rendition of Temple Of The Dog’s Say Hello 2 Heaven at Chris Cornell tribute show I Am The Highway in Los Angeles last year, ’Tallica’s own Lars Ulrich shared a photo with Miley, writing: “Still stunned by your next level version of Say Hello 2 Heaven for Chris! Beyond inspiring.”
Yup, if Rob Halford and Lars Ulrich approve, then you absolutely should, too.
