The Kerrang! staff’s top albums of 2024
You’ve seen the Kerrang! albums of 2024. Now check out what the staff were all listening to this year…
According to Oli Sykes, Bring Me The Hozion and YUNGBLUD have "got something coming".
Back in May, when we interviewed YUNGBLUD about his then-new single Weird! and he mentioned he'd been on the phone with Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes 24 hours prior to our chat, we didn't suspect much, to be perfectly honest. “I was talking to him about how much I miss home,” YUNGBLUD said. “Oli is the best, and such a role model for me.”
Now, though, it sounds like plenty more might have been said during their conversation, as Oli has revealed that his band have been “scheming” and have “got something coming” with the alternative star (real name Dom Harrison).
Last month, YUNGBLUD had tweeted both the frontman and keyboardist Jordan Fish telling them to check their inbox, with Oli replying with the eyes emoji, and Jordan joking, “More nudes?!!”
Elaborating on these cryptic tweets with MTV, however, Jordan teases that YUNGBLUD might well be featuring on one of the band's planned upcoming EPs.
“We’re gonna have like probably four different kinda EPs with different vibes it gives us a bit more of an opportunity to almost… whereas on [2019 album] amo we had three guests there from completely different worlds, I think we might theme our guests a bit more around what’s going on with each EP,” he explains.
“This one is people who are a bit more angry and, I guess, rocky.
“When we get into the other EPs, it’ll give us a chance to maybe get some other people on who are a bit more lift field or a bit more out of the box for our band.”
Does that mean YUNGBLUD is set to feature on the more rock-orientated EP, or are we going to have to wait until later this year to hear what they've come up with? Hmmmm…
