Iron Monkey return in the shape of an ugly black triangle of vitriol. Good.
On October 20th the UK's greatest contribution to the doom/sludge canon, Nottingham's Iron Monkey, are dropping 9-13, their first new full-length in almost two decades. The band called it a day back in 1999, but were hit by tragedy in 2002, when original singer Johnny Morrow sadly passed away of a heart attack at the age of 28.
But the remaining members have reformed to once again make gross, livid noise for all and sundry. Recorded in their hometown of Nottingham this spring with producer Johnny A. Carter, 9-13 is 9 songs and 48 minutes of total nihilism, which is exactly what everyone hoped it was going to be. Brace yourselves.
Today they gave us a taste of the grimness to come with their track OmegaMangler, which you can check out below.
