Iron Maiden have officially started The Book Of Souls World Tour.
The metal titans made a stunning return at Florida’s BB&T Center last night (Feb 24), kicking off their The Book Of Souls World Tour for their first gig since November 2014 and, more importantly, first since Bruce Dickinson‘s cancer treatment recovery.
The set began with an intro video featuring Mayan imagery and a downed Ed Force One tangled up in jungle vines being launched into the sky by a monstrous hand – which we’re going to go ahead and say belonged to Eddie.
Notably, the set list featured many live premieres of a host of songs from their chart-topping latest album, The Book Of Souls. While the 18-minute opus Empire Of The Clouds didn’t make an appearance, the crowd were treated to renditions of If Eternity Should Fail, Speed Of Light, Tears Of A Clown, The Red And The Black, Death Or Glory and the title-track. Not only that, it also saw the return of Children Of The Damned and Powerslave to their set list for the first time since 2009. YES!
The full setlist from the BB&T Arena was as follows:
1. If Eternity Should Fail
2. Speed Of Light
3. Children Of The Damned
4. Tears Of A Clown
5. The Red And The Black
6. The Trooper
7. Powerslave
8. Death Or Glory
9. The Book Of Souls
10. Hallowed Be Thy Name
11. Fear Of The Dark
12. Iron Maiden
13. The Number Of The Beast
14. Blood Brothers
15. Wasted Years
