Hear HEALTH cover Deftones’ Be Quiet And Drive (Far Away)

Following on from last year’s excellent RAT WARS – one of our favourite albums of 2023 – HEALTH are already back with more new music.

Well… sort of. The trio’s latest single isn’t their own, but an unsurprisingly brilliant cover of Deftones’ 1997 classic Be Quiet And Drive (Far Away), done for the Spotify Singles series.

A sneak-peek video from the studio sees HEALTH tackling the whole thing within a day, and absolutely nailing it given that Jake Duzsik has “always been compared” to Deftones frontman Chino Moreno in terms of his vocals, according to John Famiglietti.

“It’s not heavy music in a paint-by-numbers fashion,” Jake later adds in the clip, discussing Deftones’ appeal. “It can be gentle and vulnerable, and that’s definitely something I really appreciate about that band.”
