Ghost were due to kick off a trio of rituals at Mexico City’s Palacio de los Deportes this week, but unfortunately had to cancel the first date on Tuesday, September 23.

Currently, the remaining two gigs – on Wednesday, September 24 and Thursday, September 25 – are still set to go ahead, but night one was pulled as mastermind Tobias Forge has food poisoning, “which makes it impossible for the band to perform,” explains a statement.

Read their social media post below:

“It is with deep regret that we must inform you the Ghost show tonight, September 23, has been cancelled. Tobias Forge is suffering from food poisoning, which makes it impossible for the band to perform. The concerts scheduled for September 24 and 25 will take place as planned.

“If you purchased your tickets online, your refund will be automatically processed to the card used for the purchase, according to the timelines set by your banking institution.

“If you purchased your tickets at Ticketmaster outlets, you may request your refund starting on September 26 at the same location where you made your purchase. For further questions, please visit: tkmx.link/PolíticaDeCompra”

Get well soon, Tobias!

After wrapping up the U.S. leg of their Skeletour last month, Ghost teased, “Stay tuned for upcoming dates.” So with these final couple of Mexico City shows the last things in the band’s calendar for now, watch this space…
