Foo Fighters have revealed that Pat Smear has been involved in a “bizarre gardening accident”, and will miss “a few shows” coming up.

Foo Fighters announce new single, Asking For A Friend
Following last week’s awesome teaser, Foo Fighters’ eagerly-awaited new single Asking For A Friend is arriving tomorrow (October 23).

Foo Fighters have just announced a brand-new single, Asking For A Friend.
The track is set to drop tomorrow (October 23) at 3pm BST / 10am EDT / 7am PDT and can be presaved here. A snippet was teased online by the band last week along with the caption “About to take flight…” and today the rock titans have shared another brilliant-sounding audio clip which you can hear below.
Interestingly, the single’s artwork includes live photos of all six members including the recently-recruited Ilan Rubin – so does that mean he’s playing drums on the track? Let’s wait and find out…
Foos’ last album, the 5/5-rated But Here We Are, dropped in 2023. In the Kerrang! review, we said that it “prises beauty from unimaginable suffering” following the loss of drummer Taylor Hawkins and Dave’s mother Virginia: “Make no mistake, Foo Fighters have delivered a masterpiece – one they never would have wanted to have to record, but a masterpiece nonetheless.”
