To coincide with the one-night-only release of Slayer: The Repentless Killogy in cinemas today (November 6), Kerrang! are thrilled to premiere an exclusive clip from the film.
The two-part movie features both a short narrative film along with a concert – and this intense 90-second clip showcases the former part. It was written and directed by BJ McDonnell, who was also responsible for the creation of three Slayer music videos, You Against You, Repentless, and Pride In Prejudice.
"When we set out to do these initial three videos," says BJ, "our intention was to continue the saga of Slayer and Wyatt at some point down the line. But this is the band's final album and world tour so this story, the three videos and the Repentless live concert at The Forum, is a perfect way to wrap up. This is the end of the monsters."
When we first did it, I thought we were just doing the Repentless music video; I didn’t know we had a plan for three videos,” adds Slayer's Kerry King regarding the overall concept. “This trilogy is unique, and I think it’s unique to Slayer which makes it even cooler.”
Speaking about the movie, Nuclear Blast’s Gerardo Martinez says, “Everything from matching Slayer’s ferocity and heaviness in video form, to expanding into a longer narrative and live show has created the perfect Slayer atmosphere. We are beyond thrilled to give fans around the world the opportunity to join us on November 6 to witness a pure slab of fuckin’ insanity!”
