Download tease when they’ll make their first 2026 announcement

Every year, the wait for the following summer’s Download line-up is an agonising one – but the festival are giving fans a scrap of news already about 2026.

Via their Download Family newsletter, they’ve revealed that they’re going to be giving away the official first announcement time and date for DLXXIII in October – so, yes, this is an announcement about an announcement, but we’ll take it.

“The Family will find out first about the announcement time and date for DLXXIII here next month,” reads the post. “Make sure you keep an eye on your inbox and tell your mates to join the Family if they haven’t already!”

For the 2025 edition, more than 90 bands – including all three first-time headliners – were unveiled on November 14, 2024. The year before, the big reveal was November 7.

So maybe we can expect something similar this time around, too, where Download reveal the announcement date in October, and we get all the exciting band news the following month? Let’s wait and see…
