System Of A Down add new stadium dates with Korn, A7X and Deftones
System Of A Down’s previously-announced stadium dates with Korn, Avenged Sevenfold and Deftones have already sold out, with the band adding second nights in each city.
The second annual Dia De Los Deftones is around the corner, with Gojira, CHVRCHES, and more performing.
Rock icons Deftones have announced the second annual Dia De Los Deftones festival, which will take place November 2 at Petco Park in San Diego, California. The lineup includes, obviously, Deftones headlining, as well as CHVRCHES, Gojira, JPEGMAFIA, Hum, Youth Code, and Brutus.
Tickets start at $75 and will be available on Ticketmaster on Friday, August 2 at 10am PST. VIP packages range from $195 to $595 and will go on sale tomorrow July 30 at 10am PST.
Last year’s line-up was pretty stacked as well, including Vein, Ho99o9, and Mike Shinoda.
Of this year’s line-up, Deftones lead singer and guitarist Chino Moreno says: “In our second year of our festival, the exciting challenge for us is to make sure we once again give the fans a wonderful day of music that reflects the diversity of our own tastes. Each artist fits a different vertical of the music that we all love. There is truly something for everyone.”
He isn't lying. CHVRCHES rage, playing indie pop with a rock edge, while JPEGMAFIA encompass a a unique hip-hop sound. Hum are a “heavy space rock” group that are in the midst of emerging from a 20-year hiatus.
We recently spoke to Brutus about their latest album Nest, and they delved into the recording process: “Musically, the overall feeling towards the end of the writing and recording process was we wanted to make people proud; people we forgot a little bit along the way,” said drummer and singer Stefanie Mannaerts. “We’re chasing our dream, but people who are our life partners or family miss us a lot of the time. It’s for them, it’s inspired by them and it’s maybe an ode to everyone we love.”
