Deftones announce fifth Dia De Los Deftones festival with IDLES, HEALTH and more

Deftones are seemingly only playing the coolest shows ever in 2024: as well as Lollapalooza and their Golden Gate Park co-headliner with System Of A Down, the band have also just announced the fifth iteration of their Dia De Los Deftones festival.

The alt. metal legends’ newest edition of their annual event will see them joined by a typically awesome curated line-up of IDLES, Sunny Day Real Estate (performing Diary in its entirety), HEALTH, Paris Texas, Duster, recent K! cover stars GEL, and Qendresa.

Across two genre-spanning stages, Dia De Los Deftones takes place at San Diego’s Petco Park on Saturday, November 2.

But will we have new music by then? In April frontman Chino Moreno teased that the band’s in-the-works next album had an “invigorated kind of sound”.

“The creative part, to me, is always kind of the funnest part of being in this band,” he said. “Performing is great, but coming up with something out of nothing, that feeling cannot be topped. And so when you get in the room with your friends, we’re laughing, we’re having fun and then someone does something and then I react to it or they react to what I’m doing, it goes in a circle and then, all of a sudden, we lift our heads up and there’s something that exists that didn’t exist before we walked in that room. That’s just great.”
