Bring Me The Horizon's ambitious new Post Human project is coming…
It sounds as though Bring Me The Horizon will be making good on their promise to release "multiple" records in 2020, with Oli Sykes detailing their ambitious plans ahead of highly-anticipated new single Parasite Eve dropping later today.
In a new interview with NME, the frontman explains that the band are working on four different records that will be unveiled over the next 12 months – all of which will come under the banner of Post Human. Parasite Eve – along with 2019's Ludens – will be featured on the first of these releases.

“This song is going to be part of a record that has the same feel along with Ludens,” he says. “We’ve just been winging it and recording from lockdown, and now we’re going to make four different records over the next year and they’ll all share the name Post Human.”
Explaining the sound of this entire project, Oli explains, “They’ll each be tonally different with their own sound and mood. That’s one thing we’ve never really done. There’s often been an over-arching theme on our records, but the music has always felt like a collage. That’s cool and I like it, but sometimes you want a soundtrack for a certain occasion and emotion.
“The idea behind Post Human is looking at how we’ve stepped out of evolution and the food chain,” he continues. “If we can do that, then we can take responsibility for what we’ve done to the planet and become something better than what humans are right now.”
It makes sense that Bring Me will be taking this new lyrical stance following on from Ludens. Speaking to Kerrang! at the time of the single's release in November, Oli revealed that he feels “responsible” to use his platform and publicly stand up for what he believes in.
“If I’m going to do this job and travel the world and get to do this amazing thing, I can’t just offset it,” he said. “It’s now a case of figuring out how to do it in my own way, because I’m not a politically-charged person. I’ve got an interest in it, but you have to know a lot about it. Right now I’m trying to figure out how I can help the most, and how I can make a difference in my own way, before I jump in and start blabbing about shit that I’ve never spoken about before (laughs). It’s always meant something to me – I’ve always loved animals and cared about the world – but I guess a lot of people don’t want to hear about it, and they don’t want to talk about it, and I’ve always wanted to be that person who’s just cool with everyone; I don’t wanna ruffle anyone’s feathers.
“But it’s gone past preaching now: these are facts that need to be repeated so people can finally start being able to hear the words ‘mass extinction’. I think when they hear something like that, it makes their skin crawl and they go, ‘No, I don’t want to think about that.’ And if you do believe in that stuff, you really do have to do something about it. This is something that goes through my head every day, so if I’m not using this small power or influence that I’ve been given, then it makes me feel like I don’t know why I’m doing what I’m doing.”
Bring Me The Horizon will premiere Parasite Eve at 7:30pm BST tonight.
