With the dust settling on the greatest heavy metal show of all time, Back To The Beginning's musical director Tom Morello has revealed just how successful the gig was in raising money for charity.

Through ticket sales for the mammoth event at Villa Park and a reported five million livestreams purchased around the world, over $190 million has been raised for Cure Parkinson's, Acorns Children's Hospice and Birmingham Children's Hospital, according to a post from Tom on social media.

"Thank you, Ozzy Osbourne, for trusting me to be the musical director of the Back To The Beginning show," said Tom on Instagram. "It was over a year of hard work, but heavy metal was the music that made me love music, and it was a labour of love. We raised a ton of money for a great cause and so many great musicians and bands and fans all over the world paid tribute to the all time greats."

None of the artists playing the 10-hour extravaganza accepted a fee for playing, it was all done in the name of celebrating Sabbath, Ozzy and heavy metal.

We have been raising money for all three charities through the Black Sabbath x Kerrang! collab T-shirt, with £15 from each sale going to Cure Parkinson's, Acorns Children's Hospice and Birmingham Children's Hospital. It's your final day to pick up a shirt – so get on it quick!
